Thank You For Your Input!

Edgerton is working with Landworks Studio, a local landscape architecture firm specializing in park master planning, to develop the Edgerton Parks Master Plan. The Plan will be the guiding document illustrating the community’s vision for investment in parks and recreation in Edgerton for future generations. As a road map for that investment, the Plan will include: inventory and renovations to existing parks; desired levels of service for different types of parks/facilities; criteria for prioritization of projects based on limited available funding; and opportunities for connectivity to other systems.

Imagination is a powerful tool! Click the icon above to download the Park Visualization form to learn about the current amenities offered at each of Edgerton's park locations and to visualize what they could look like in the future. Return your completed form to Edgerton City Hall.

Landworks Studio and City staff have drafted a preliminary version of the Parks Master Plan. The Plan will be the guiding document illustrating the community’s vision for investment in parks and recreation in Edgerton for future generations. Click the icon above to download the plan draft

Check back for more information! Throughout the planning process, the City will host a few Open Houses to collect resident feedback. Check back here for more information regarding the next open house.

We need more stuff for kids to do at the skate park. So much land and not much of anything there.

Thanks for the comment! Glendell Acres Skate Park is included in the Parks Master Plan so we will be presenting recommendations to the public for this park at our next Open House scheduled for Tuesday, September 20th from 5:30pm – 7:30pm at City Hall. It is a come and go event so drop by if you can! Otherwise, feel free to leave more suggestions here and we will include it in our public feedback study. Thanks again!

I think it would be really nice if we could have some benches in the dog park for the humans to sit while the dogs play. And some trees to provide shade for the dogs and humans and a little water fountain for the dogs.

It would be nice if there is an area dedicated towards saving the Monarch Butterflies. The Monarch’s are dwindling in numbers and it is educational for kids and adults alike. There are a lot of communities investing in this worthwhile effort thanks to the government bringing the issue to light.

Also, can we have water fountains for the kids and adults too.

I agree on the dog park I have to drive to Millcreek park for a real dog park. Lets see some Johnson County tax money spent here!

I think there definitely needs to be bathrooms at Martin Creek Park. I love taking my son there. I would also like to see a play area there with equipment for toddlers and little kids. The existing play equipment is more for bigger kids. The walking trail there also needs to be redone, some areas are very uneven. We also like all the open space out there which gives our son room to run around. This is our favorite park to go to and we like it pretty much how it is though the changes I suggested I think will make it nicer.

Winter is coming! The parks wont get plowed. We will have nowhere to walk. Our sidewalks have to be shoveled why not our park sidewalks also? Also Martin creek park has lights. Use them. We can and do walk after dark. I should bring my wheelchair bound friend out there and have him write a ADA complaint. nah I’ll wait and see…..
